Abstract: Deanery Office (Graduate Tutorial) - FAQ’s

Michaelmas Term 2020

Student Registration Exercise/Collection of Raven password:

This process asks you to validate the information held about you in CamSIS. Once completed new students will be directed to the UIS (University Information Systems) website and can collect their UIS account details including their Raven password.

For all those whose admission has been confirmed this email will originate from the Student Registry anytime from the end of August.

Please ensure that you do this otherwise you will not be able to log onto the University wi-fi (Eduroam) when you arrive.

ID CHECK:

All students are required to provide original documentation, in person, to confirm their identity and for most this will be a valid passport.

STUDENT CARD: Where and how do I obtain my student card?

These are issued by the University when all admission requirements have been met. Any lost cards can be replaced by contacting the Deanery but will incur a charge.

Student cards will only be issued in person and this usually takes place as part of the registration process. For those students who are part-time alternative arrangements can be made by emailing the Deanery Office (deanery@darwin.cam.ac.uk). Your student card will be used for access (both College & Departmental), College dining, Library and as general proof of your membership.

The photograph on the card will be the one submitted on your original application form.

MATRICULATION FORM:

All students, except for those that already hold a Cambridge degree, will need to sign the Matriculation Form.

GRADUATE TUTOR:

All students are allocated a Graduate Tutor and these details will be given out at the beginning of term during the registration process.

STUDENT CERTIFICATES (Banking/Council Tax etc.):

These are produced by the Deanery Office and can be requested via the Darwin website:

Quick Links/Submit a support ticket/complete the form. At the beginning of term these usually take twenty-four hours to produce and will usually be emailed out. Paper copies can also be provided if required and will be left in pigeon-holes.

TIER4 VISA:

Final information has yet to be received from the International Student Office but for those with a Tier4 Visa it is usual for both the passport and visa (BRP) to be scanned by the College on arrival. For those that enter through an ‘E’ Gate a copy of your boarding pass or email confirming your flight details is also required. For others we will scan the 30 day vignette in your passport confirming date of entry to the UK.

This information will be uploaded by the College to your CamSIS record.

The majority of Tier4 students are also asked to “sign in” each term confirming their residence, contact details and continued study in Cambridge.

The College is still awaiting further guidance from the ISO and it may well be that some of the above will be transferring to an on-line system. Information will be up-dated as soon as possible on our website.

NHS Registation:

All new students need to register for NHS services. This is done by choosing a GP Practice close to where you will be living and completing the necessary forms. Usually this is done in person and will involve visiting the practice concerned. However, this may change to an on-line system and further information will be posted when available.
